IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager Express SQL Injection

The purpose of IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager Express is to automate the provisioning of virtual servers and software. It helps identifying non-compliant users and quickly deploying critical software updates to reduce end-user downtime.

An SQL injection vulnerability exists in IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager Express. Specifically, the vulnerability is due to lack of sanitation of user supplied parameters sent to the User.updateUserValue function in the servlet. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted HTTP requests to the Tivoli Provisioning Manager Express server. Successful exploitation allows the attacker to grant Administrator privileges.

The vulnerability has been assigned as CVE-2012-0199.
